What's New? The Asics Gel Kayano 14 goes from strength to strength. The Kayano 14 A/W 2008 posesses the largest single Gel unit in any Asics shoe in the rearfoot makes for good cushioning and stability. The upper has been remodelled with a slightly narrower collar to hold the heel snugly. The midsole is made of new, lighter foam that's designed to bounce back more quickly after impact.

What we say: The Kayano 14 A/W is an impressive update. Previous updates have been minor but the Men's Asics Gel Kayano 14 provides a far superior ride to the Men's Asics Gel Kayano 13. This is one of the top structured cushioning shoe available and a firm favourite amongst serious runners. The ideal shoe for the high mileage runner seeking a blend of cushioning and support.

  • I.G.S - I.G.S.® (Impact Guidance System): Meeting the demands of all athletic activities, the I.G.S.® (Impact Guidance System) is a technical design philosophy that allows the foot to perform in a more natural manner.


  • DuraSponge - A blown AHAR® rubber compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot.


  • Gel - The ASICS GEL System is based on a special kind of silicone that enables optimal shock absorption. Gel Units are strategically placed in the midsole and designed to enable specific functions and positions.


  • Duomax - A proprietary ASICS® system consisting of two or more different density midsole materials, designed to help correct the degree and velocity of pronation.


  • Space Trusstic - An advanced system that creates a pocket between the Trusstic System® device and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function.


  • Biomorphic Fit - uses high-tech stretch materials to allow the shoe upper to move with the foot. This mean the foot encounters less friction and fabric bunching during specific moments of the gait cycle.


  • Forefoot ASICS GEL cushioning system - The silicone-based, GEL cushioning system in the forefoot reduces the loading forces that would normally be applied as the foot moves into propulsion. This reduces shear forces and along with flex grooves, enchances propulsion.


  • Rearfoot Asics Gel Cushioning System - When running around the tennis court the foot can typically experience forces of 3 to 5 times the player’s body weight during heel strike. The GEL cushioning system, in conjunction with the midsole material, absorbs these impact forces.


  • Solyte Midsole - This is a proprietary cushioning material that provides an exceptionally lightweight midsole. Solyte an advanced copolymer is significant lighter than SpEVA or standard EVA with excellent cushioning, bounce back and durability properties.


  • PHF - Personal Heel Fit, is made of a high density foam which moulds perfectly around the shape of the hell and Achilles tendon. This supports reduces slippage and provides comfort and fit. The foam rebounds to its original shape when not in use.


  • Solyte - Proprietary cushioning material that provides an exceptionally lightweight midsole with excellent bounce-back and durability.


  • AHAR+ - ASICS High Abrasion Resistance rubber is a tough compound used at the heavy contact areas of the outsole. it helps to reduce excessive wear. AHAR+ is a lighter version of the general AHAR.


  • ComforDry Sockliner - This insole provides the optimum cushioning performance that creates a cooler drier healthier shoe environment.


  • Flex Grooves - These are located in the forefoot and / or rearfoot for increased Flexibility and cushioning.
